Youth is the golden era when imagination flies and creativity soars. To nurture young musical talent, the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra presents “Music from the Heart – Budding Composers” again, a concert focusing on the next generation, laying roots and sowing seeds for the future of Chinese orchestral music.

This innovative partnership of the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra and the Education Bureau aims to discover local secondary school students demonstrating outstanding musical potential, inviting them to step outside the conventional classroom to attend carefully designed workshops and orchestral rehearsals. Immersed in a professional environment, students gain a clearer understanding of compositional knowledge and practical skills.

Curated by Chew Hee Chiat, the concert showcases original works by young talents selected from an open call. The performance not only recognises their creative passion but also offers a musical feast fusing youthful inspiration and with China’s rich musical heritage.
